Not too long ago, a number of Design Build companies started to emerge in the DFW metro area. “Design Build” is a term that is widely used in the remodeling and residential construction industry, but we noticed that a lot of these newer companies had a different understanding of what Design Build means than we did. For many, it simply means selecting materials and providing a “budget allowance” estimate. Often, these budgets are too small, and when the work begins, the homeowners are caught off guard by a lot of surprises and left with cost and time overages, as well as unforeseen inconveniences.
I would like to take a moment to better explain what we at Euro Design Build mean when we say that we are a Design Build Company. In the early stages of our business, we recognized that the remodeling industry was missing key communication tools and processes that are necessary to help eliminate the many unknowns inherent in construction and renovation. Homeowners and contractors would decide on a project and sign a contract, yet neither would have a vision of exactly what the finished product was going to look like—and more importantly, what the final cost was going to be when the project was complete. That had to be very scary and extremely stressful for both the client and the contractor.
Since remodeling is a stressful process by nature, we at Euro Design Build aimed to create a process that made things run as smoothly as possible. By creating clear, detailed designs, streamlining communication, and shortening construction time, we could minimize stress to the lowest possible level.
We know that a detailed design is a key communication tool for both the client and our employees, and by drawing on decades of experience and expertise, we can put together a project guide that avoids unforeseen problems, delays, and overages. These designs are the foundation of our work, and we always ensure they have been completed to our high standards before we do any construction work in your home.
The Euro Design Build process is rigorous and long, but when finished, our clients see all the possibilities of an ideal layout in 3-D photorealistic images and blueprints, elevations for each space, and detailed, line-item estimates. These are just a few of the tools we use to help our clients visualize their spaces before they sign any paperwork. We pride ourselves on making sure everyone is up to speed and on the same page before we move new projects into the “pre-construction” phase of our process.
