After three years in development, a groundbreaking new accreditation, the Certified Remodeling Designer (CRD) certification, has officially launched through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). This certification represents a significant shift in how residential renovations are approached, uniting two of the most essential roles in the remodeling process: interior designers and certified remodeling contractors.
The CRD certification was created to bridge the gap between form and function—blending aesthetic vision with construction expertise to provide clients with a smoother, more integrated remodeling experience.
When I first said “yes” to the collaborative effort of creating this program, I didn’t fully realize how significant the commitment would be. Now, after three years of intense collaboration, I am deeply honored to have been one of only eight respected design-build professionals selected to shape this national certification. I’m humbled by the depth of knowledge, integrity, and passion shown by the incredible team I had the privilege to work alongside.
Even more exciting, the designers on our team are part of the inaugural graduating class of Certified Remodeling Designers. Yes—our very own Seval Dzinic, Sammy Dzinic, and Michelle Tallent are among the first in the country to complete the course and earn this certification. This achievement places us at the forefront of a major industry evolution, giving our clients the unique advantage of working with design professionals who now carry advanced training specifically tailored to the challenges of remodeling existing homes.
The CRD designation is more than a credential—it represents a new standard in renovation leadership. It ensures that your vision is brought to life with thoughtful precision, a deeper understanding of structure and systems, and fewer surprises along the way.
